Politics, what I'd like to see

Energy Policy:
Increased dependence on transportation by rail with hubs for semis to recieve loads.
This means of transportation actually uses less energy than semis right next to public transportation.
Allow construction of newer nuclear power plants, if I am correct, France is the most dependent on nuclear power, about 70% nuclear generated energy.
Divert funds for alternative fuels research. Ethanol is truely a joke.

Budgetary:
I would like to see the phase out of pork as in, "getting funds for your district", spend money on projects, equipment and programs that make sense.
We can't print more money because it causes inflation, borrowing should be an option used only when its necessary especially when the federal debt is over a trillion, and China has brought our debts. Well the Democrats said they would cut pork, yet they really are the problem especially that one-armed WW2 vet Senator Dan Inouye of HI.

Immigration:
Fuck yeah shut our borders.

Health Care:
Scrap medicare and create an not for profit insurance organization monitored by the government.
I believe the Government cannot do everything for its citizens as the financial constraints would be more of a burden on the Goverment, thus increasing the federal debt if we went to a socialist system, "Welfare State" patterned after Europe.
Do you think its right when illegal immigrants and drug addicts get SS and welfare benefits?
We need to reinforce SS laws with broader language specifying who is elligible for SS benefits, I think too many people get it.

Gun Control:
Well its holding your pistol with two hands.
Well not that.
Enforce all current laws on the books is the solution to the problem and we have too many laws on the books and they aren't enforced.

Penitary System:
Murder equals the Death Penality.
Should a criminal get free health care courtesty of your tax dollars?
Any fucking murderer, rapist shouldn't get life in prison especially when taxpayer dollars provide healthcare for life when alot of law abiding citizens aren't even insured!!

Judical:
Weed out the liberal judges whom care about Criminals yet allow them to sue the LE Agency, an law abiding citizen whom shot the perp.
Automatically throw out the cases of really really stupid people suing because they were an idiot in the first place.

A Smaller Government is what we all need. Maybe the government should be divided into state units because then the Government would be more reponsive to the needs of citizens, and less red tape.

VT Tragedy-Letter to Editor Campus Newspaper

I see it rather inappropriate to rush towards blaming the availability of firearms for this tragedy at VT. In fact one news report stated that an "assault rifle" was involved which is rather a mislabeled reference to a semi-automatic rifle, but an assault rifle is capable of full auto fire. In fact American Citizens can legally own an full automatic firearm with an "Class 3" license. In fact the only crimes committed with an legally owned fully automatic firearm were committed by an police officer and a doctor in two separate cases. Because Class 3 ownership is so strictly regulated along with strict background checks, crimes committed involving legally registered firearms with full automatic capability are rare.A total firearms/handgun ban will never solve the problem, we need to look into the human being itself.
In fact until 15 years ago in this state, students actually were allowed to store firearms in their lockers for hunting in the morning or after school because of the high level of trust between school administration and the student themselves. What about violent video games?I believe there is a point in the human mind where a human being can't differentiate virtual cold blooded murder to a real cold blooded murder. I wonder why people think Grand Theft Auto and Vice City are the dope when you get "points" for killing LEO's. This strikes me as unmoral, and unjust. Whoever created these games must be totally disconnected from society itself. In fact Cho wouldn't have been allowed to purchase a handgun because a permit to purchase mental health background check would have can back negative disqualifying him from approval.
It is hard to understand why the gunman in this VT tragedy would commit this horrible and inhumane act. Taking an innocent life never solves anything. I guess some people have psychotic, sick and twisted minds that they are rather unpredictable. My prayers go out to those at VT in this sad and senseless tragedy.Mike WellnerSeniorTechnology Assessment and Management

For Coty AKA Poster Child of the Big Unions

Let me clarify-I had a Honda Civic once, got rid of it since it burned so much gawd damn oil.
I buy Sony electronics. There isn't a such thing as a USA made spining or casting reel unless you want to spend some big bucks.Either Shimano or Daiwa.I would glady buy an Swedish made Abu Garcia.
My Gateway Monitor, mouse, keyboard is from China-Can't be selective about that, I dont have a choice.Nothing wrong with buying both European, Canadian and US made goods. The consumer these days isn't in an strong enough position to dicate where a product is made.
All three make quality products. Well the Nippons do as they can make an cost effective quality product.
My Lumina is made in Canuckia.
My hearing aids are made in Germany by Siemens.
My Grafs are made in Canuckia.
An minority of my hand and power tools are from Taiwan, but some are from Japan, or the Czech Republic.
Oh, by the way I'd be in heaven if China was enveloped in a mushroom cloud...it would be cause to celebrate.

Things I would like to see for 2007-2008
Smaller Government
Abolishment of the ATF
Shielding firearms manufacturers against negligence lawsuits
Less stringent gun control laws
Better fiscal responsibility, that is federal funds spent efficiently with an strong clampdown on pork bills-IE: No more $30,000 toilets for the National Park Service
Cessation of trade with China
Funding for the Arts severly cut-Why in the fawk should we pay someone to paint?
PBS supported by taxes from TV networks
Reinstatment of the death penality
Privatize Social Security
Less Unions
Decreased outsourcing
More American made goods
Repeal the Estate Tax
100% of all oil pumped out of US Territory to be sold in the US, therefore making it illegal to export oil
More restrictions on who can receive Social Security, I think too many people are elligible

Well I will think of more when the time comes to write the next one.

Recent LTEs

Another LTE:I am writing this letter to express my strong objection to the Mao Tse Tung shrine in the Miller Center Lobby. Why is a group of students/teachers paying homage to a Communist who killed more of his people than Hitler himself? Somewhere around 20 million perished under his rule due to starvation, executions, and gulags. Yet he persecuted intellectuals, and on the basis of religion and political beliefs.Yet he also provided arms and munitions for use against our Soldiers in Vietnam. It is very Un-American for SCSU to display this shrine. Please educate yourself by entering "Mao Tse Tung" into an internet search engine. If this continues, may I suggest SCSU strike Old Glory, and replace it with a red flag with the hammer and sickle.

Cindy Sheehan-21st Century Marxist

Why is Cindy Sheehan pushing her anti-war agenda when she is broadly straying off topic from the Iraq War itself? What does protesting free trade US Military base expansion, and attending the World Socialist Forum in Venezuela have to do with the war itself?Apparently she has a hidden agenda-Promoting Marxism.I'd be happy to raise funds for her self-imposed exile to North Korea.

I believe Unions are responsible for the whole outsourcing fiasco.First of all they were started in the first place to ensure job safety, health issues, work hours. Now they are just a bunch of inflexible bigwigs that make excessive wage demands on American companies, which in turn since the Unions won't be flexible in working out an set wage, they just say screw the Unions and go overseas. You have to pay membership in order to be with an Union. You know where all that money goes? The Democrats' war chest. Those donkeys use that money like we use toilet paper.

Unions should be there in the first place making acceptable wage demands without the company in question resorting to outsourcing, protecting and educating Americans on outsourcing.
Ensure health and safety on the job. NOT DRIVING JOBS OFFSHORE!!!
